As soon as you get 20 shells or more you can trade them for pieces of outfits. If I recall correctly, in mobile you have to go to the "rewards" tab to be able to trade (that's the only difference that web and mobile have, if I'm not mistaken)

That is correct. Go to the event page on mobile, go to the rewards tab (second one down) and hit "trade" on the outfit you want. You need to have the 20 shells for a piece of clothing, or it won't work and you will just be asked if you want to buy more.

Awww, I know right! I wasn't here for last year's summer event, but I've heard a lot of great things about it. I was there for the Christmas Event however, and that was pretty amazing! You could finish 4 days in advance without paying a single penny. Sigh...It's still so difficult to believe how far Beemoov has sunk... :'(

Halloween and Christmas are pretty reliable, but I think that is because they have changed very little over the years. For the most part, they have only expanded on their previous iterations (which works just fine). The expansions are usually things that have been shown to work overall though. So, less risk but pretty applauded reward.
It was always Summer where they went wild and showed their creativity in the past, which is why I think people were so excited to see what they would do. That is just me though. May have on the nostalgia goggles.
With the length of this event, I am secretly hoping there is more to it than anyone realized and in about a week they are going to reveal some grand scheme that changes everything or reveals some event story. Now that would be something I'd expect for a Summer event.
Oh well.

Has anyone seen the companions? I keep collecting bait, but I haven’t seen any of them. I know it’s still technically early in the event, but I’d think I’d have seen one at least once.

Two days ago I found the blue one, but I didn't have any baits yet, so I couldn't catch it. But, yeah, their drop rate seems to be really low.

I've met a Piscxolot once. That's all so far 

I like all the outfits. It'll be a struggle to get enough shells to get all the pieces though... I like that the rate to buy shells is 1 shell per gold piece. I only use Hand of Midas gold though.

I'm frustrated by the explorations a bit. All I find is the stuff for the companion game, no items or baits.

is it just for me that the racing game lags ,this is the third time in three days that i get hit once and the game directly gives me a pop up "sorry you lost" and i get 0 shells from it

Nope, for me it's fine, both on mobile and web.

Try cleaning your cache, see if it helps.

so i played island olympics and it said i got a shell but my shell count didnt go up its only showing the ones i got for playful companion and the crab game, i didnt have this issue before

Me too, and I wasted 3 energy potions to try to get the sponges, but when I did get them it did not count. So I have lost 6 shells today... 

Beemoov reading our complaints about the lack of bait and frequency of companion encounters during the music event: ah, I see...so you want tons of bait and no companions, yes?

(Obviously I'm joking...Beemoov doesn't read our complaints lol)

It just happened the same to me, but it was't that the game was lagging, I still had lives when the pop-up appeared.

Just out of interest:
Is there any use in paying 40 Gold to be able to replay the minigames? Wouldn't it make more sense to just spend that gold on buying shells instead?

It's for the priviledge of playing the marvellous minigame without having to wait like the rest of mortals.

Seriusly, except for the people who click the button by accident and those who don't bother to check anything else, I don't know who would use the 'time skip', when most probably the game will crash and give you no shells.

Nice, so only 40 gold to play this awesome, fun and interesting minigame? Count me in then! >.<

Thanks for the answer, thought there might be some hidden benefit, because otherwise this would be a total cash-grab- ... wait, it's a Beemoov Event, I shouldn't even be surprised anymore .

I don't see which soul on earth would spend it on there for (maybe) 2 shells if you could get 2 outfit items with that amount...

Imagine after 5 years whole Beemoov experience proves to be a huge experiment of some university, that won a prize for the biggest "Is there a limit to screw your users and still get enough to make huge profits" experiment.

We'll get a letter of "Thank you for participating in this vital experience!" with a side note - *"You should really read the Agreement next time, who knows what could you sign up for in the future"

I scrolled down during Island Olimpics game and it instantly killed me :v
I honestly have no idea what happended, I had all 3 hearts, decided to adjust the page and the message saying that I lost popped up. The game kept running under the message but when I refreshed it didn't give me any shells. Don't do the same XD

Yeah, I know it Lynne, but I thought that it may if the companion kept going under the message (I think that it just disappears after losing normally). But well, I' m not going to complete the event anyway, so I'm not that upset about it.
